100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 66: Another great workout

I did Turbo Kick Round 42.  Whew!

I was sweating so hard it looked like I took a shower in my clothes.  Booyah! THAT IS HOW A WORKOUT SHOULD BE DONE!  On fiyah!!

I was going to throw in another mini-workout, but after 55 minutes of that, I was good!  I gave it all my energy, going full steam for the first time.  I still have top learn more of the routine so I ca really nail it.  This will be a tough one to teach.

I'm just saying...unless I teach were most of the participants are familiar with TK or advanced exercisers, many won't pick this up or even want to attempt it. No worries, 'll break it down.

Heck yeah!

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 65: Some of this, some of that

That's how my workout was tonight.  Some of this, some of that, a little of this and a whole lotta fun!!

Since I bought 3 new Wii games online yesterday, I figured I better get the dust off that things. I did Wii Fit until the games arrives.  Hope they really inspire me to do more.

As if...as if I don't do a lot anyway!!  I did 35 minutes of WiiFit.  Then I decided to do Hip Hop ABS instead of HUSTLE, just because, I have to keep it interested.  Not that I am bored with Hustle because I have like a gazillion workouts!  But look at Shaun T and those abs!!

I did a 45 minute workout of that. I absolutely love, love, love HHA for different reasons than I love, love, love HHH. HHA takes its name serious, it works the ABS! Man, I was really feeling it.  It's like doing 1,000 crunches standing.  Love it!

And if that was not enough, I did a 20 minute Turbo Jam workout, why, just because I can!!  I have all this energy, I probably could have done a longer workout but I am also working on getting to bed at a decent time.

Total workout: 100 minutes!!

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 64: Do more!

Each time I work out I try and push just a bit harder.  Either I go an extra 10 minutes, or I push myself at a higher intensity. Who wants the same old boring workout day after day!!

And how can I ever get bored with the gazillion workouts that I have!  And I just ordered more!

I ordered Jeanette Jenkins Bikini Bootcamp workout because she is starting a challenge in April every Tues/Thurs and I want in! What better way to work out but with a support group.

And I also bought THREE new Wii games! The Michael Jackson Experience, Just Dance 2 and Zumba!  Aw yeah, it is going to be on!  I'll review them once I do them.

Tonight's workout was Turbo Kick 41, again!!

50 minutes.

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 63: Plan big

The plan was to do a double workout. Two 60-minute workouts for 120 minutes.

Welllll...

I did not get home till late and still had LOTS of chores to do.

But a 60 minute workout ain't bad either!  I decided to do the last Hip Hop Hustle I had not tried, HHH 7.  It was not bad at all, I liked it, but I did 45 minutes and that was enough.  I wanted to do something I knew through and through.  I put in the CD to The Show 5 and did that 3 times in a row.  I followed that with free style to one song and then a cool down.

Total workout time: 60 minutes.

Tomorrow I go for 120.

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 62: Turbo Kick and Hustle

This is how you get it done people!!

Not one but TWO high energy workouts. WHAT??  And I gave it my all and more.  The more I learn Turbo Kick 41, the more I can put into it so I was really great with it.

You want results? They don't come for free man!  Push hard!  Not only has my workouts been on FIYAH lately, my eating has been totally in control.  Combine those two and the kid is back!!

Tomorrow I go bowling with my sorors and don't know if I can fit a workout in, BUT, I may ....

Total workout time: 75 minutes

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 61: Turbo Kick Round 41

Chalene really brought it in this one.  I love, love, LOVE it!

Okay, but I'mma need to learn this one before I give it my all.  I was stumbling through some of it, but when I have it down, I know this is a calorie killer.  I have a long way to go before I feel confident with this.  But I will chip at it daily.

What's so killer about Turbo Kick? Hmmm, the punches, the kicks, the energy, the music!

Every Turbo Kick starts with a nice warm up with lots of punches in it and a few kicks.  Then the punch section starts, MY FAVORITE!!  Not only does it work your arms, it works your abs because there is a lot of twisting.  I could just do this section alone and be a happy camper.

Then the kicks, which for some reason, I don't feel it as much.  Maybe I need higher kicks or more power in them.  Definitely need to perfect the technique here.

Then there is the punches and kicks section, which I like because it seems a little fast paced, annnnd....I know what is after that. TURBO section!  I didn't think I would have the energy, but lo and behold, I just brought it and did the whole thing (well, most at turbo level, the rest I took it down a notch).  But the Turbo section is what makes Turbo Kick so exciting, getting your heart rate up that high, that fast and having fun!

As Chalene says, "It's a party!"  and "If exercise is not fun, you won't do it!"

I definitely felt like I had fun at a party. Thanks Chalene!

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 60: Sweat, sweat, sweat blood!

I had the best workout tonight.  Hip Hop Hustle 5 (sorta addicted to this) and Turbo Kick 42 (totally confused with this).

I did Hip Hop Hustle Part 1 and then Part 2 which I had never done. Wow!  That one was probably the toughest hustle I have seen and those are supposed to be easy.  Phuh! I LOVE IT!!  Might take me a minute to master it, but I'll keep at it.  I did The Show maybe 6-7 times...in a row...and I was sweaty!

I still have a ways to go before I have it down like I want but I am getting a lot better.  I did some practicing with my cueing, which I suck at!  I really, can't seem to cue at the right part, but I think some of that is memorization. Knowing what it coming up next so I can cue before that moves starts.  By the time I say "step knee" I'm already doing it, but I need to cue BEFORE the move starts.  Drats!

Turbo Kick Round 42, I did the preview this times as I was too tired for the full out workout.  I still pushed it.  I think the only way for me to master this Round of TK is to break it down and learn section by section.  After I did the complete preview, I did the workouts section of Finesse and legs. Killer!!

Total workout time: 75 minutes

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 59: I did it again!

Hip Hop Hustle 5 that is!

I'm getting so much better at it too.  Loving it.  I'm adding in cueing as I do it just with the music and not watching the DVD.  I did Hustle Part 1 and yet to try Hustle Part 2, but I will start with that next time.

Of all the Hustle I have I still have not done 7 yet.  Coming soon!  I have worked out hard this week, I may actually give myself a rest day tomorrow.

Total workout 60 minutes!

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 58: Hip Hop Hustle 1 on a new level

I had the fan Hustle 1 workout and had done it multiple times, but now I do it to learn the moves exactly and memorization.  Next I learn how to cue to teach others this awesome workouts.  I guess this was the Hip Hop Hustle workout that started it all!

I pretty much have it down, but I keep watching the rehearsal and each time I learn a tidbit more.  Chalene's my teacher and she keeps me on my toes.  maybe I add an extra twist, or dip a bit lower or perfect a difficult move....it's always something.  Love it!!

If you think this is just another dance workout, TRY IT!  You sweat like you are running on the treadmill at a 10!!  I mean, if you are doing it the way you are supposed to do.  Most know that I am a Hip Hop Abs with Shaun T junkie...I have not done that in weeks!!  HHH has become my new addiction.

I think Hip Hop Abs DOES work the abs more than Hip Hop Hustle....BUT, this is more dancy while getting a great workout as well.  And you don't have to worry about doing it perfect, you still get a great workout.

It may seem difficult to the nondancer (but then in that case, so does Hip Hop Abs), but the first few times, just learn the moves. Every time you do it you get better and put more energy on it!  My fave moves:

The Dorothy-because it's just so cool looking.

Step Knee-for the energy you can put into this!  High or low, it's awesome

The grapevine-no, not just the basic grapevine from the 70s, this is the jazzed up grapevine.  There are 2 versions of it throughout all the HHH workouts.  There's the main one, with a dip in the middle that we were tested on in Instructor training.  Then there is the "crazy legs" one that I love, love, LOVE in Hustle 5.

The Hammer-not a signature move, but I love it.  There are various moves that are called "the hammer" but they all include pumping of the fist.

Anything where there's booty shaking!!  C'mon, who doesn't like to get buck!!

I did 65 minutes sore ankle and all.  Woo-hoo!

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 57: Turbo Kick Round 42

Today was a brutal workout and I kind of wimped out.  Well, for most I did enough, but for me I have a ways to go.  I was trying to do two 60-minutes workouts but did not finish either.

I started with Hip Hop Hustle 6, which was new to me.  I started with Hustle 1 and 2.  Those were fine.  But the Show, I did not like very much.  I was catching on for the most part, and then the middle I completely lost it.  I was not picking it up.  And I can't get a good workout when I am stressing over the moves.  So I did about 40 minutes and then gave it up.  I WILL get it, today just was not the day.  I want to be like Chalene, so I must not give up!!

Then I did Turbo Kick Round 42, which I did in Instructor class.  I did not remember a thing!  I was like, what's next, and what's that, and how do I do that!?  This is quite the workout and I love it for that.  But for me learning this enough to teach it?  Sheesh!  I'll have to practice every day just to learn this Round, versus HHH, I pick it up a lot faster.  I think I will do TK 42 every other day until I have it down...or at least till I get bored with it.

I did about 35 minutes and near fell out!

Total workout: 75 minutes

100-Day Exercise Challenge Day 56: No not really, but listen...

What happened was....

I totally forget to blog!  Have I been working out??  Yes and no.  Some days I do, some days I don't.  So I figured today I would pick things back up where I left out.  Rather I blog these 100 days in a row or not, I WILL blog about 100 days of execise.

And so, it's day 56.  What has been going on? Well, last weekend I attended Hip Hop Hustle AND Turbo Kick Instructor trainings.  Go ahead, read my old blogs, I discussed it before.

It was a BLAST!!  Both tough but I made it through standing.  I love both formats, but what i really learned is that I am in LOVE with Hip Hop Hustle even more.  It's the energy that is involved.  It's like...every time I hear some music I want to do those HHH signature moves.  I'm in the car, listening to the Hustle music CD and doing the dance moves in my head (and sometimes actually trying to do it while driving).  It is that addictive.

Sooooo...if after all my million and one blogs you have NOT checked out Hip Hop Hustle, what are you waiting for.  better yet, wait real soon and maybe I'll be coming to a class near you!

Workout today: 50 minutes of Hip Hop Hustle 5, 15 minutes of Hip Hop Hustle 9 (was supposed to be the whole thing but I was tired)
